Empowering Early Childhood Education: Asha Jyothi and Sodhana Foundation’s Bala-badi Initiative

In many rural parts of India, young children often miss out on early education as their parents are occupied with agricultural work. Recognizing this gap, Dr. Rao founded the Bala-badi (Pre-School) program through the Sodhana Foundation over two decades ago. His vision was simple yet powerful: to provide hands-on, meaningful education to children during their formative years.

Today, the Sodhana Foundation operates 19 pre-schools across rural villages in the Vizianagaram district, each serving as a beacon of learning and opportunity. Running each school costs approximately ₹1.5 lakhs annually, covering essentials like teacher salaries, learning materials, and nutritious meals.

Asha Jyothi’s Commitment :In support of this impactful initiative, Asha Jyothi has pledged to fully fund two Bala-badi schools with an annual contribution of ₹3 lakhs (approx. $3,614). This partnership ensures continued access to quality early education for children in these communities.

Building Brighter Futures Together, Sodhana Foundation and Asha Jyothi are empowering the next generation—one child, one classroom, one village at a time
