Asha Jyothi, with the generous support of Kona Lakshmi Mohan Rao garu and many donors—including significant contributions from Anil Kona and friends—is running a medical campaign in Madhira, Telangana. This initiative provides Ayurvedic treatment to 120–150 patients every week and has been active for the past six months in 2025, with an operating cost of approximately $10,000 per year
Madhira is a medium-sized town in South India, surrounded by numerous small villages. The local economy is primarily driven by agriculture and small businesses. Access to healthcare, especially for underprivileged communities, has long been a challenge in this region.
For the past 21 years, Mr. Kona Lakshmi Mohan Rao has been addressing this need by organizing free Ayurvedic medical camps every Sunday in front of his home. These camps are supported by retired local Ayurveda specialists and have served over 300,000 people to date. Patients often travel up to 120 km to receive treatment.
Common ailments treated include arthritis, diabetes, respiratory issues, skin conditions, pain, and seasonal illnesses like colds and coughs. Since 2021, there has been a noticeable rise in gastrointestinal disorders, prompting the camp to begin preparing specialized medicines for these conditions. Additionally, the team is planning to support severe diabetes patients by providing longer-lasting medical supplies.
The monthly cost for raw materials and medicine procurement is estimated at $1000–$1200.
Anil Kona leads this ‘Your Campaign’ with dedicated support from Asha Jyothi.
