Asha-Jyothi has partnered with Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Lucknow, which runs the Vivekananda Polyclinic & Institute of Medical Sciences, a 350 bedded multi-specialty community hospital. The Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram serves with the objective of providing quality healthcare at the lowest cost to all patients and to provide charity services to the deserving patients from lower socio-economic strata.

Among various types of surgeries and medical procedures, the hospital performs ophthalmic surgeries to about 700 patients a month. Joining hands with the hospital, Asha-Jyothi committed to provide prescribed post-operative care medicines to patients over the month of January. With this partnership, Asha-Jyothi expanded the reach of medical camps to northern part of India.

The team of Asha-Jyothi volunteers, led by Mr. Anurag Singh, procured the medicine supplies including dark glasses, assembled them in packets, and handed them to the patients. The distribution of medicines by Asha-Jyothi drew appreciation from the hospital staff including trustees of Ramakrishna Mission.

The funding for month long initiative is jointly sourced from Fremont chapter of Asha-Jyothi besides Virginia.
